The Challenge
A Brampton hotel was refurbishing its in-house restaurant ahead of a brand relaunch. The project required furnishing three distinct areas under one coordinated order: a 90-seat main dining room, a 30-seat private banquet room, and a 20-seat lobby bar. The hotel’s procurement team had previously dealt with long lead times and freight costs shipping furniture from the US — and needed a Canadian wholesale supplier that could deliver on a fixed timeline tied to the hotel’s relaunch event.
A key design requirement: all seating across the three zones had to feel coordinated, with matching wood tones and upholstery colours, even though the zones served different functions and traffic levels. The banquet room seating had to stack for event setups. The main dining room called for custom fixed booths along the perimeter walls.
The Solution
ForRestaurants worked with the hotel’s interior design consultant to specify a unified palette: warm walnut veneer finishes on all booth and chair frames, paired with a soft cognac faux-leather upholstery used consistently across the dining room chairs, banquet stack chairs, and lobby bar stools. The custom booths for the dining room perimeter were fabricated to the hotel’s exact floor plan dimensions — 14 sections in total — with high-density commercial foam seats and backs.
The banquet room received commercial stack chairs in the same wood-and-cognac finish — lightweight enough for staff to rearrange for different event layouts, but sturdy enough for daily restaurant use. The lobby bar received 18 swivel counter stools in matching walnut and cognac. All furniture was sourced from ForRestaurants’ Canadian warehouse, eliminating cross-border freight costs and customs delays. Delivery and installation were completed five days before the hotel’s relaunch event.
